High School Academic Curriculum


Overview


The academic curriculum at International Global Learning Academy is designed to cultivate intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and ethical leadership. Rooted in rigorous academic standards and enriched with interdisciplinary learning, our program prepares students for success in higher education and responsible global citizenship.


Our curriculum aligns with national and state academic frameworks while incorporating innovative, inquiry-based instruction and experiential learning opportunities. Students graduate with a strong foundation in the humanities, sciences, mathematics, and the arts, complemented by advanced electives and college preparatory coursework.

Grade 9 – Foundation Year

Objective: Establish strong academic habits, communication skills, and core disciplinary knowledge.

Special Academic Programs


Honors & Advanced Placement (AP) Track

Students demonstrating exceptional academic ability may enroll in honors and AP courses beginning in Grade 10. AP offerings may expand annually based on student interest and faculty specialization.


STEM Innovation Program

An interdisciplinary program integrating science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through hands-on laboratory work, robotics, and design thinking.


Humanities and Global Studies Program

Explores the intersection of literature, history, and culture with a focus on ethical reasoning, civic engagement, and global awareness.


Arts Conservatory

Offers intensive training in visual and performing arts, including opportunities for exhibitions, performances, and portfolio development.


College and Career Readiness

  • Comprehensive college counseling from Grade 9
  • Career exploration workshops and university partnerships
  • Senior capstone research and internship opportunities


Graduation Requirements

To earn a IGLA High School Diploma, students must complete:

  • English: 4 credits
  • Mathematics: 4 credits
  • Science: 3 credits
  • Social Studies: 3 credits
  • World Language: 2 credits (same language)
  • Fine Arts: 1 credit
  • Physical Education & Health: 1 credit
  • Electives: 6 credits
  • Senior Capstone/Project: 1 credit


Total: 24 Credits Minimum
